Privacy Policy for SHONJOG
Last Updated: October 2, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to SHONJOG ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services ("Service"). Our primary goal is to provide you with a secure and efficient tool to manage your own digital content across your various social media profiles.
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
To provide and improve our Service, we collect several different types of information. We are committed to the principle of data minimization, collecting only what is necessary to perform our services.
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Registration Data: When you create a SHONJOG account, we collect your desired username, your email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
B. Information from Third-Party Services (Google, Facebook, X)
- Authentication Tokens: To connect your social media accounts (such as Google/YouTube, Facebook, and X), we use the secure OAuth 2.0 protocol. This process allows you to grant us permission to act on your behalf without sharing your password. We securely store the resulting access tokens and refresh tokens. We never see, request, or store your passwords for these third-party accounts.
- Basic Profile Information: As part of the OAuth process, we may receive basic public profile information from the connected service, such as your username/handle, profile picture, and the email address associated with that account. This is used to display your connected accounts within your dashboard for easy identification.
C. Information We Collect Automatically (Usage Data)
- Activity Logs: We collect information about your interactions with our Service, such as the number of uploads you initiate, the source and destination platforms you use, and timestamps of your activities. This data is used for service monitoring, abuse prevention, enforcing usage limits based on your plan, and improving our service performance.
D. Temporary Information (Content Data)
- Video Files and Metadata: When you initiate an upload, you provide a URL to your own video. Our system temporarily downloads the video file from that URL to our secure servers. This file exists on our server only for the duration of the upload process to your selected destination platform(s). Immediately upon successful upload or if the process fails, the video file and its associated metadata are permanently and irretrievably deleted from our servers. We do not store your content long-term.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: To create your account, manage your sessions, and perform the core function of the service, which is to automate the re-uploading of your content to your connected accounts as you direct.
- To Manage Your Account: To communicate with you about your account, provide customer support, and send you important service-related notices.
- To Improve and Secure Our Service: To analyze usage patterns, monitor for fraudulent or abusive activity, diagnose technical issues, and improve the overall user experience.
- To Personalize Your Experience: To display your connected accounts and their statuses correctly within your user dashboard.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Your privacy is paramount. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personally identifiable information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
- Service Providers: We may use third-party service providers for hosting and infrastructure, but they are bound by confidentiality agreements and do not have permission to use your data for any other purpose.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, or protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
- User-Initiated Sharing: The core function of our service is to share your content on your behalf. When you instruct us to upload a video to your connected social media account, we are sharing that content with that platform under your direction. This is not sharing with an unrelated third party, but facilitating the intended use of the service.
5. Data Security and Retention
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Authentication tokens are encrypted and stored in our secure database. We use industry-standard security protocols to protect our systems.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal information and stored authentication tokens. As stated above, video files are only retained temporarily during the upload process.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
8. Contact Us
